Brandon on right with ruler

Due Date:
My investigation is about (could be a question you want answered or a problem):

My investigation is about reaction times and how fast you can catch a ruler, when droped in the air above your hand, also the difference in catching a little 30cm ruler and why you nearly always get a faster reation time.

7th November
My hypothesis is (should be worded as a statement):

I think that all people have quicker reation times at 9:00 in the morning than in the afternoon at 3:00 or at night, and sporty people that keep on going on with there catching will be better at they reations so they have quicker reation times i also think that you will be able to get a way faster reation time with the little ruler.

(People who practise their reaction times have faster reaction times than people who don't practise)

My references used to research the question:

Hey Brandon, check out this website - go down to the heading "How Fast Are You?" on // for the full instructions for this experiment.

Materials and equipment required to conduct my investigation:two rulers a 30cm ruler and a 1m ruler and a couple people to catch the 30cm ruler and get the same people to do the same with the 1m ruler.

14th November
My experimental design (the method you will use to test your hypothesis): step one: get a ruler(a 1m ruler and a 30cm ruler) and a person(or yourself) step two:get one person to hold the ruler and another to stand there ready with there hand open, the other person puts the ruler over the hand and they drop the ruler the person has to catch the ruler in the quickest time possible.step three:record data by checking what centermetre on the ruler he or she got then work out the averages after you do the reaction time test five times.step four:see if your hypothesis was right.

14th November
Conduct experiments and submit quantitative data and graphs. This is some of the data i have collected:my average is 18.6cm for catching the massive ruler, tom's is a (av) of 15cm levi's 17cm.but with the little ruler levi gets a average of 7.2cm i get a average of 10.8 and tom's is 5.6. so clearly you can catch the little 30cm ruler way quicker than with the 1m ruler.because the little ruler falling down has a slower speed because the ruler is lighter than the 1m ruler that makes you have a faster reaction time.
